Stade Rennais have identified Nottingham Forest’s Ibrahim Sangaré as one of their targets to strengthen in the winter market.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who state the Ligue 1 side are aiming to improve their defence, midfield and attack.
The French club have included the Nottingham Forest player, Trabzonspor’s Batista Mendy and Flamengo’s Erick Pulgar as targets for midfield.
Foot Mercato claim Stade Rennais, led by their sporting director Frederic Massara, have made contact for the trio.
Sangaré made three starts for the Reds in August before picking up an injury, and has been on the sidelines since then. The 27-year-old’s injury situation didn’t seem to put off Jorge Sampaoli’s side from making an approach for him in January.
That’s because Stade Rennais see the Ivory Coast international as an ‘attractive prospect’, yet he doesn’t hold the same view. The report explains the defensive midfielder has no plans to make a switch to France.
Sangaré remains focused on regaining his full fitness and returning to the pitch with Nuno Espírito Santo’s side at the end of this month. Therefore, Stade Rennais have decided to quickly move to other targets.
