Nottingham Forest defender Moussa Niakhaté will sign his contract with Lyon and complete his move to the French side.

That’s according to journalist Benjamin Quarez, who reports that the defender has had his medical and the various parties will exchange the last documents on the transfer to get it over the line.

Niakhaté has been closing in on a move to Lyon this week, with the French side moving to wrap up his signature and a deal with Nottingham Forest.

The two sides quickly agreed terms on a deal worth €14-18m and have been moving quickly from that point, with it reported earlier this week he was undergoing a medical and had even turned down Crystal Palace.

That was on Thursday and Quarez now reports it is a matter of time before the defender’s move to France is completed.

He reports that Niakhaté will sign his contract at Lyon this after he completes his medical for them.

All that is now required is for the final relevant documents to be exchanged between the various parties for the 28-year-old to leave Nottingham Forest and make his return to France.
