Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina has just over three months left on his contract, but this has not impacted his role in the team.
The Nigeria international has started in every Premier League game for the Reds this season.
His future beyond this season is set to be at Nottingham Forest if a report from Africa Foot is to be believed.
The right-back has been a key part of Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad and the English club want to retain him.
Africa Foot found out from sources close to the 28-year-old’s agent that he is ‘preparing to sign’ a new contract. This includes a two-year extension with an option for another year and will see him improve his salary. The figures, however, aren’t mentioned in the report.
They further state negotiations between the two parties are ‘expected to accelerate’ in the coming weeks. There could be developments in this case in April.
Aina joined the English club on a free transfer in July 2023, after spending four years at Torino. The former Chelsea man could continue at Nottingham Forest at least until 2027 by signing a new contract.
