Nottingham Forest have enjoyed an impressive season so far and are currently fifth in the table, four points behind second placed Manchester City.
The Reds have the second-best defensive record [conceded 10 goals] in the league and Murillo has been one of the key players in their defence.
The centre-back’s displays for Nottingham Forest helped him receive a first call up from Brazil for the ongoing international break. It’s also seen him attract attention from other clubs.
That’s according to Sport, who state the ‘European greats are watching him carefully’. The report mainly focuses on Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The two La Liga giants want to strengthen their defence next year and both are looking at the Brazilian.
Barca had gathered positive reports about Murillo before he arrived at Nottingham Forest from Corinthians in August 2023. They are still keeping close tabs on him for the future.
Real Madrid have looked at Palmeiras’ 18-year-old defender Vitor Reis. Éder Militão’s serious setback last weekend could see Los Blancos sign an experienced centre-back in January.
Sport say Murillo fits into what Real Madrid are looking for, but it’s not made clear whether they will make an approach for him in the winter market.
With several clubs monitoring the player, the newspaper claims he’s ‘preparing to make the leap to a big club’. There’s no mention of the fee needed to take him away from Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
