Earlier on Wednesday, reports from South America claimed that Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa could head back to Brazil this summer.

It was claimed that the player was aware he’s not in the club’s plans, and saw a loan to his home country with ‘good eyes’.

Now on Instagram, Scarpa posted a story which is a clear message in response to that report.

The Nottingham Forest player posted a picture of himself and wrote: ‘People trip in lies, that’s crazy. Lack of what to do, that must be it. PS: I know I need a haircut.’

In fact, when it was recently reported that Flamengo and Palmeiras were interested in signing Scarpa, it had been claimed that the player was completely focused on staying at Nottingham Forest to prove himself at the club. It was even claimed he wanted to fulfil all of his contract, which expires in 2026.

So even though it’s a possibility that the Reds no longer count on the player, as he had a disappointing start at the club, it’s not his desire to return to Brazil.

That’s partly because he had a huge offer to stay at Palmeiras back in December, and claimed he’d follow his dream to play in England. And it seems he won’t give up on that so soon.
