As Nottingham Forest fans may be a little tired of the Gustavo Scarpa saga, reports from Brazil claim that could be over soon.
The latest news on the midfielder’s situation is brought by journalist Jorge Nicola, who claims Vasco da Gama joined the race for the player.
Scarpa is currently loaned by Nottingham Forest to Olympiacos, and despite his little playing time in Greece, he’s reportedly insisting on staying there and trying to succeed in Europe.
As Brazilian clubs chase him, Nicola claims that there’s ‘expectation’ that the player could make a final decision ‘in the coming days’.
Both Internacional and Atlético Mineiro are said to be in talks for his signing, and now Vasco da Gama made an approach.
It’s the Rio de Janeiro side who are said to have a little advantage, both because their new director Alexandre Mattos previously worked with the player, and then there’s the fact that their owners from 777 Partners are expected to make a big investment soon.
Nottingham Forest seem to be just waiting for his decision, as many reports claimed the Reds are ready to accept offers worth between €4.5m and €6m.
