Sportime journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos reports Nottingham Forest midfielder Tiago Silva is expected to arrive in Athens this week ahead of his proposed transfer to Olympiacos.
Olympiacos are on course to make the Champions League group stages and subsequently need to bring in reinforcements.
The Greek giants are in the market for a midfielder and they’ve been linked with a move for the Forest player in recent weeks. It now seems they are very close to completing a deal ahead of the transfer window closing next week.
Chorianopoulos claims Silva is expected to arrive in Greece on Wednesday or Thursday to sign for Olympiacos. However, he also says there isn’t yet a 100% agreement between the two clubs.
Silva joined Nottingham Forest from Portuguese side CD Feirense in 2019, and has established himself as a key player for the Championship club. Last season the midfielder made 44 appearances in the league for Sabri Lamouchi’s side, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
His contract at the City Ground will expire at the end of June 2022.
