Nottingham Forest have become the latest Premier League side to be credited with interest in AS Roma’s Roger Ibañez.

The centre-back was a regular for the Serie A side last season, when he made 48 appearances, scoring three goals in the process. Despite this, the Giallorossi had long identified the 24-year-old as an ‘asset’ to raise funds.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who state the player has now ‘forcefully entered’ Nottingham Forest’s radar.

It’s further claimed Steve Cooper’s side have ‘officially expressed interest’ in securing the defender’s services.

The Brazilian’s deal runs until 2025 and the report says José Mourinho’s side value him at €25-30m.

Calciomercato.it point out Ibañez was previously approached by Newcastle United, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur. The Tricky Trees aren’t considered to be at the same level as the other Premier League sides.

Despite this, the website states Nottingham Forest are still capable of offering the South American a ‘very important salary’, if he decides to join them.

Roma have already fixed the price and it’s now down to the English club, after officially registering their interest, to make an offer to sign Ibañez.
