According to a claim in the Turkish media, English clubs are expected to come in for Galatasaray attacker Barış Alper Yılmaz this summer.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League ever since his performances for Turkey at last summer’s Euros.
Haber Sarikirmizi have covered comments made by Ertan Süzgün, who revealed offers have come in from West Ham United and Nottingham Forest.
The Turkish journalist said Galatasaray will be expecting at least €40m from the sale of Yılmaz and that the interested English clubs will not give up their pursuit of the player.
“Barış Alper Yılmaz has a serious market in the Premier League. They are following. Nottingham Forest had an official offer of €20+5m. Galatasaray did not accept this. Nottingham Forest knocked on Galatasaray’s door again, verbally saying ‘We can increase to €25+5m’, but again this was not accepted. West Ham’s offer was also rejected. I don’t think the English will leave Galatasaray alone when it comes to Barış Alper. Some clubs even came to Galatasaray’s stadium recently to watch. Galatasaray has an expectation of €40m. If this offer comes, they can sell him,” said Süzgün.
Again, both West Ham United and Nottingham Forest have recently been linked with the right winger as they look to bolster their squads ahead of next season. It’s expected both Premier League sides will come in with offers for the attacker, but they will also face competition from Aston Villa and Napoli.
Yılmaz has made 29 appearances for Gala this season, scoring 11 goals. He’s contracted to the Super Lig leaders until June 2027, but it seems Cimbom could look to cash in on him this summer if the right offer comes in.
