Last week, there was a suggestion from Italy that Nottingham Forest are still interested in Juventus’ Douglas Luiz.

The midfielder was linked with a move to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in the January transfer window and so were other English clubs, including Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United.

More background has emerged about Nottingham Forest’s interest in the Brazilian.

TuttoJuve have reported that while Forest were looking sign the player in the winter, they ‘never made the move’ because of Douglas Luiz’s injury issues at that point.

The ex-Aston Villa man has had a number of injury issue this season, which has played a role in his failure to settle in Italy.

Even now he is out injured due to a thigh injury and the report states that he now has only eight games to salvage his Juventus career.

If he doesn’t make an impact under new manager Igor Tudor, he will be up for sale in the summer and this can provide a renewed opportunity to Nottingham Forest for a move.

There have previously been indications that Edu is a fan of the player and also tried to sign him during his time at Arsenal.
