Nottingham Forest may need to ramp up the charm offensive to sign Ibrahim Sangaré from PSV Eindhoven this summer.
That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad, who say the player ‘seems to want to aim higher’ with a transfer.
Reports earlier this month had indicated that Nottingham Forest had made an initial bid for the PSV Eindhoven midfielder as they plan to bolster Steve Cooper’s squad this summer.
That was followed by an encouraging report from ED on the 13th which detailed Forest’s bid for the player and made it clear that a transfer was more than possible if they met PSV’s demands.
There has been little to no information or reports on the matter since, with Nottingham Forest instead seemingly focusing their efforts on signing Antony Elanga from Manchester United.
And it seems if they want to add Sangaré to the list of arrivals this summer they will need to pile on the charm and then some.
Eindhovens Dagblad now report that is remains to be seen if Sangaré will leave in the coming weeks as he ‘seems to want to aim higher’ than Nottingham Forest.
They have previously shown an interest in the player and reports had indicated they wanted to get a deal done quickly but there has been no ‘follow-up’ for the time being.
That would indicate they’ve received something of a cold shoulder from the player’s side and perhaps they are now either looking elsewhere or, working out how to convince Sangaré that the City Ground should be his next destination.
