It appears that despite their attempts to sign Brenner from FC Cincinnati in January, Nottingham Forest are going to miss out on the player altogether.
That’s according to American journalist Tom Bogert, who took to Twitter to reveal that Udinese are the ones who have won the race for the 23-year-old.
The Brazilian enjoyed his breakout season in the MLS last year, scoring 18 goals and assisting another six, which caught the attention of Nottingham Forest.
Bogert reports that Cincinnati and Udinese are currently ‘finalising a deal’ for the striker, and recalls that the Serie A side, just like Nottingham Forest, had a ‘bid rejected’ in January.

PSV Eindhoven, at a time when many clubs were hovering around Cody Gakpo, were also keen, but never seemed to make a move.
This means Nottingham Forest will likely have to look elsewhere if they had planned to return for Brenner in the summer, should they manage to avoid relegation back down to the Championship under Steve Cooper.
The forward has been in Cincinnati since 2021, when they bought him from Sao Paulo for a fee of €12m, meaning that Udinese are likely to be paying a bit more than that.
