Nottingham Forest are likely to be among a group of Premier League clubs to have made an enquiry about Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow.
Fussball Transfers report that while Sow is competing with Switzerland at the World Cup, there is a growing battle for his signature.
His future at club level ‘will be at stake’ at the tournament in Qatar and there is a growing belief that the Premier League ‘beckons’ for him.
The 25-year-old can use the tournament to make himself ‘even more interesting’ for other clubs and scouts from England have Sow in their sights.
According to FT’s information, four clubs from the Premier League have ‘already made enquiries’ and the interested parties wanted to find out whether a transfer ‘might be possible’ in January.
There are no names mentioned at this point, but it is likely Nottingham Forest will be among them after they made a €20m bid in the summer.
That offer has been confirmed by the player, who discussed the bid back in August and admitted a move to England remains his dream.
Whether Nottingham Forest will offer such an amount again isn’t mentioned, although there is a belief it may take more to get him in January anyway.
Frankfurt are certainly open to a sale as his price may fall by the summer when he will be in the final year of his deal, which expires in 2024.
Clubs are now lining up and considering a bid regardless and Nottingham Forest seem likely to be among them after their summer effort.
