It seems Nottingham Forest aren’t giving up on Braga goalkeeper Matheus.

Following past reports from the Portuguese media saying the Reds had placed bids for the transfer, newspaper A Bola today reveals there’s been a new attempt.

The outlet writes that Nottingham Forest ‘insist’ on the signing and, in the past few days, made a ‘very tempting’ offer of €10m, with add-ons included.

Braga, however, turned that down. It’s said they don’t show ‘the slightest opening’ to negotiating the goalkeeper’s exit at this time, especially because they’re about to start playing the Champions League play-offs.

It’s highlighted how Nottingham Forest’s interest in Matheus isn’t new, as they have an ‘immense desire’ to land the goalkeeper. They had offered €5m a month and a half ago, and now doubled their offer.

The good news for the Tricky Trees is that, according to A Bola, the subject isn’t done, and a lot can happen in the coming weeks. It’s said there’s been ‘bad timing’ from the Reds to negotiate just before the Champions League play-offs, and there’s a chance the ‘process could reopen’ by the end of the month.
