Two days ago, Le Cronache stated Nottingham Forest have ‘started asking for information’ about Salernitana’s Lassana Coulibaly. It wasn’t made clear if the Tricky Trees contacted the player or his employer.
Steve Cooper’s side showed keen interest in the midfielder in the winter market and even made a bid, which was turned down by the Serie A side.
This is highlighted in a fresh report from TuttoMercatoWeb, who also provide an update on this case.
The Mali international, who has three goals and two assists from 33 games this season, has been one of the ‘most convincing’ players at Salernitana. This has seen him arouse interest from the Premier League and ‘Nottingham Forest in particular’.
It’s claimed the English club will ‘return’ to make another attempt for the 27-year-old in the summer. Nottingham Forest would have to be wary about Norwich City and Leicester City as these two sides are also named as suitors.
The Foxes are 19th in the table and risk being relegated from the Premier League. If they can’t escape, they will join the Canaries in the Championship next season and this could give Nottingham Forest an advantage in the race to sign Coulibaly.
