It had been a while since Nottingham Forest were last highlighted by the Portuguese press, but they are back to get some attention this Thursday.
The reason today is the goal scored by João Carvalho, which helped the Reds to beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 for the Championship.
The newspaper writes that Carvalho ‘gave the win’ to Forest, ‘helping the club to get out’ of their four games winless streak.
O Jogo’s website also brings a story, saying the midfielder has been ‘shining’ for the Championship side, and scored the ‘golaço’ which gave Forest the win.
Carvalho joined Forest on a €15m move from Benfica this summer. His transfer was the reason the Portuguese press started calling the club the ‘new Wolverhampton’, even though this nickname has stopped being used after the transfer window.
The midfielder has eight appearances for the club so far, and this was his first goal. He’s signed a contract which runs until 2023.
