Following their big transfer spend in the summer, you would have thought that Nottingham Forest might calm things down in January.
That doesn’t appear to be the case, however, as Steve Cooper’s side continue to be very active on the transfer market, with their latest bid revealed.
It comes from L’Equipe, who report that Nottingham Forest have made an €11m offer for Montpellier defender Maxime Estève.
Having let Loïc Badé return to Rennes to then let him go to Sevilla, it seems the Tricky Trees want a new centre-back, which is where the 20-year-old comes in.
While Brighton and Sassuolo were the first two to come forward for the player, it’s Nottingham Forest who have made the first offer.
The €11m bid includes bonuses, but Montpellier have turned it down, wanting to ‘at least finish the season’ with their player.
That means that Nottingham Forest will either have to up their bid to try and convince the Ligue 1 side to part ways with their man early, or simply wait until the summer, depending on whether or not they are still in the Premier League.
