On Tuesday, we covered claims from Italy that Nottingham Forest have made contact over signing Andrea Pinamonti.
The 23-year-old currently plays for Inter Milan, where he arrived from Genoa in 2020.
Last season he was loaned out to Empoli and got the minutes he was looking for, making 36 appearances in the league. Scoring 13 goals and adding two assists made the move a success and there are multiple clubs interested in signing him this summer.
Wednesday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport carries on the claims.
Atalanta continue to be the player’s preferred destination but they’re struggling to reach the €20m asking price that Inter Milan are sticking to. Things may change if they can sell Luis Muriel and bring some funds in quickly.
Sassuolo are said to be keen, and Nottingham Forest are currently ‘in the background’ having made initial contact. Pinamonti will likely prefer to stay in Serie A, yet if a deal can’t be agreed with an Italian side and Forest push for the transfer then that situation could change.
Interestingly, Corriere dello Sport report the €20m could be partly made up by bonuses, so something like a €15m fixed fee and €5m in potential extras.
