Following the January links between Nottingham Forest and Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini, this rumour is still doing the rounds in the Italian media.
The player’s contract with the Nerazzurri expires at the end of the season, and with him being unhappy about his playing time there, a summer exit is the most natural outcome.
Outlet Calciomercato today write a piece recalling that Nottingham Forest held contacts with his entourage in January, and it’s said that their ‘appreciation’ for the player remains ‘in view of June’.
Gagliardini, however, doesn’t sound very excited about that possibility. It’s said he waits for offers from Italian clubs, as many Serie A sides follow him and are preparing for their attempts.
The midfielder only has 621 minutes on the pitch this season, and his main priority is to find a club where he’ll play regularly.
With Premier League clubs normally showing a bigger financial power, it would only be natural for Nottingham Forest to put the bigger offer on the table next summer.
However, with the player wishing to stay in Italy, perhaps the Tricky Trees would need more arguments.
