Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers have entered the race for Göztepe forward Rômulo Cardoso and are ready to do battle with RB Leipzig for his signature.

That’s according to GE Globo, who report that Wolves and Nottingham Forest are competing with the German side for the 23-year-old.

They state that the two Premier League teams have been in contact with the player in the last few days to seek out information about the value and terms of a potential deal.

At this point they are behind Leipzig, who are the preferred choice, simply because they were the first to start talks. However, their failure to push it through quickly has led Göztepe to evaluating other offers.

They’re in a hurry to finalise a deal for the striker, who had 13 goals and nine assists in 29 league games this season.

Wolves manager Vítor Pereira is reportedly very keen on the player and has asked for the club to move talks for him forwards. He needs to bolster his forward line this summer after losing Matheus Cunha.

Whether Nuno Espirito Santo is as keen isn’t made clear, but Nottingham Forest are very much in the mix as well.

It may come down to who convinces the player most, with several sides in Europe making proposals and Leipzig pushing alongside the Premier League duo.
