Despite some journalists claiming that Arsenal have not made a bid for Henry Onyekuru, the player certainly seems to think that has been the case.
In fact, the 20-year-old explained to the website that he had been trying to get more information about the club from his national team teammate Alex Iwobi.
He said: “He’s a nice fellow, who is open to all despite his star status in the team. We talked a bit about Arsenal and their manager Arsène Wenger, and he had nothing but praise for his manager and teammates.
“Iwobi said they are like a family in the dressing room, and even the senior players treat the upcoming players like their equals. It was a very brief discussion, but he said a lot of good things about the club.”
If true, Arsenal fans will be pleased that one of their own is, at least, encouraging things down the player’s end for a transfer.
Reports claimed that a £6.8m fee had been agreed between KAS Eupen and Arsenal regarding the forward’s transfer, and even that a date had been set for a medical post international break.
We’ll have to wait and see about that.
