Portuguese newspaper Record have this week been providing updates on Wolves and Bruno Lage, the favourite to become the club’s new manager.
First they revealed an interview had taken place on Monday, and stated Lage wasn’t the only man Wolves had spoken to, and then they explained the former Benfica boss was waiting for a reply after feeling he presented himself well when speaking to the Premier League club.
On Friday, they simply relay claims from England of Frank Lampard being a possibility, not giving their opinion either way on the former Chelsea manager. However, they do reiterate that Lage is the major candidate for the position.
Elsewhere in their newspaper, Record once again bring Wolves into the Carlos Vinícius equation. It’s explained the Benfica owned player is now back in Portugal after Tottenham decided not to use their buying option after a loan spell.
During his time with Tottenham, Vinícius made 23 appearances, totalling less than 1000 minutes, scored four goals and added three assists.
As for his future, Record state Wolves is a ‘viable’ option, with no other club named.
‘Nothing is certain’ for the player, and the coming weeks will be key in the Brazilian’s future.
