Just under an hour ago, we covered claims in France that Tottenham and Lyon had reached a ‘total agreement’ for the transfer of Tanguy Ndombele.

They came from Soccer Link, who were formerly associated to Paris United, and we did it because they are becoming hard to ignore, especially with such big claims.

However, at the end of the article, we pointed out that Jean-Michel Aulas, Lyon’s president, was due to appear on RMC Sport to discuss all matters regarding his club, and we wondered if he would talk about this supposed agreement.

We listened to the interview live, and the French radio station actually gave him the claims, even mentioning the €75m fee (bonuses included), and he shot it down straight away.

He said: “The first offer Tottenham made was €45m. We’ve held discussions since, but nothing is done. I can assure you of that, and we’re not in a hurry either. Nothing is done and he’s one of our best players. As for how much he’s worth, I don’t know, but he’s worth more than €45m”.

Of course, Aulas could just be protecting the deal by denying it, making sure what goes on behind the scenes remains a secret.

This, however, is confirmation that Spurs (not that we ever doubted that) are after the midfielder, and talks regarding a transfer are underway.
