The Swedish media continues to bring updates on the future of Kim Hellberg, who has been one of the candidates to take charge of Sunderland.
Earlier today, it was claimed that the coach was on his way to join Hammarby in the next few days.
Although that report was very sure about the move, we now get to see Expressen taking it a little easier on their claims.
They write that Hammarby are indeed ‘finalising negotiations’ with Hellberg, although ‘nothing is completely clear or signed’ for now.
It’s said that despite reports about his interview with Sunderland, the Swedish club have ‘good hope’ that everything will work out on their side.
The talks seem to be at a very advanced stage, because even Hellberg’s assistant is said to be chosen, as that would be David Selini.
With Sunderland missing out on the Swedish coach, it seems they’re now more focused on the arrival of Will Still anyway, as reports today claimed that the Belgian coach is flattered by the interest and really considering a potential move to English football.
