Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken his men to Italy as Manchester United face Atalanta in the Champions League later today.
The Red Devils left Victor Lindelöf back in Manchester for the midweek European clash after the defender picked up a knock in training.
When the news came appeared about the Sweden international’s absence for the clash against the Serie A side, there were concerns in his homeland, over his availability for November’s international break.
Sweden take on Georgia and Spain in World Cup qualifiers later this month and the former Benfica man’s participation for those fixtures is unlikely to be in danger.
Janne Andersson, the national team manager, has included Lindelöf in his squad after holding talks with the Manchester United centre-back to find out the extent of his injury.
He has shared the details of the conversation with reporters after announcing Sweden’s squad for the upcoming fixtures.
“I talked to Victor yesterday. He was not worried. It’s a minor injury. There we are and then you never know. But he was not worried in that way so that conversation felt good,” Andersson was quoted as saying by Fotboll Skanalen.
