Manchester United’s Edinson Cavani has been restricted to seven starts in all competitions this season, out of which six came in the league.
The striker has struggled with multiple injuries and has missed 24 matches for the Red Devils in the ongoing campaign. Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer arrival has also forced him to settle for a secondary role, whenever he has been eligible for selection.
Cavani’s current deal will run out on June 30th. The time left on his Manchester United deal has seen him linked with moves to multiple clubs.
Boca Juniors showed keen interest in the 35-year-old last year and recent reports have stated the Argentine side are still looking at the Uruguay international’.
The ex-Napoli star’s chances of returning to South America have now been talked down by his brother, Walter Guglielmone, who is also his agent.
The representative gave an interview to El País and when asked whether Cavani can play for Boca Juniors, Guglielmone said: “At the moment that is not true… Everything is dynamic. The priority is to continue in Europe.”
