Over the years, Antonio Conte has worked with a number of directors of football, but never with Gianluca Petrachi.
Previously with AS Roma and Torino, among others, the 53-year-old is currently without a job, but that didn’t stop him from expressing his desire to work with the Tottenham manager some day.
The man in his role at Spurs is currently Fabio Paratici, who certainly doesn’t seem like he’s gong anywhere anytime soon, but the chat he had with Sport Italia was regarding a possible move to Juventus for the pair of them.
The Tottenham manager has been named as a potential successor to Max Allegri at the Serie A side considering his contract in London expires at the end of the current season, even if there is the option to extend that by a year.
Still, that hasn’t stopped the rumours, and Petrachi admitted, relayed by TuttoJuve24, that he would be up for the idea of working alongside the Spurs boss.
He said: “Antonio and I have two very strong characters, so why not? It would be interesting to see us work together. Apart from everything, I’ve always made my way alone. I’ve never asked anyone for help and I’m proud of having worked on my own, both when I was a football and now a director.”
It has been reported that Tottenham and Conte will be having a chat soon about his future, so perhaps it’s best to wait for that before getting worried or excited about this prospect.
