Last November, Tottenham Hotspur appointed Antonio Conte as their new manager, days after sacking Nuno Espírito Santo.
The ex-Chelsea manager signed a contract until 2023, but his future at the north London club beyond this season remains uncertain.
On March 16th, Italian journalist Fabio Santini stated Conte has strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain and ‘first contacts have already started’ between the two parties.
Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is currently in charge at Parc des Princes, but he could be shown the exit door at the end of the season, for his failures in the Champions League.
Fast forward to April and Santini shares new updates on this case to Calciomercato.it’s CMIT TV.
“He does not stay in London. I know thanks to a source very close to him. And at the moment there is a negotiation with the Parisians,” Santini said.
The journalist further went on to explain that the Italian coach, who is in discussion with the Ligue 1 side, could ask PSG to sign his former striker, Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgium international is not enjoying himself at Chelsea and could look to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.
“For about two weeks he [Lukaku] and Hakimi have been flooding old Inter colleagues with Whatsapp messages,” Santini added.
“Lukaku can only return to Inter on loan, but at the moment there is a negotiation between Conte and PSG, where Conte goes for Lukaku.
“PSG have all the elements to be well accepted by the Belgian. You don’t go back to Inter but go to your coach. Unlike Inter who today announced that they will make two sales at the end of the season.”
