After completing his move to São Paulo, Manchester City owned Nahuel Ferraresi had a word with the Brazilian media regarding the transfer.
The defender, who claims to be very happy to have joined the Tricolor, talked about how excited he was once he got to know that they were interested in signing him.
“When São Paulo contacted me, I couldn’t believe it. It’s a great club, it represents a lot in the world. I was seeing the team, how they were, the competitions they played. Things were progressing and I felt more like coming here,” said Ferraresi (via Globo Esporte).
Ferraresi also talked about his departure from Manchester City, claiming that despite moving to Brazilian football at the age of 23, he considers it an evolution in his career.
“It’s not a setback. It’s a step forward to follow my growth. I will continue to work to grow in my career. I want to continue adding and at the highest level. São Paulo plays at international level and are always fighting in Brazil.”
Nahuel Ferraresi was signed by Manchester City in a transfer from Venezuelan side Deportivo Tachira back in 2017. Since then, he had loan spells at Montevideo City Torque, Peralada, Porto, Moreirense and Estoril, until agreeing this deal with São Paulo.
His contract with the Tricolor runs until June 2023, but that can be extended until December, in a scenario where the club would hold him until the end of the Brazilian season.
According to recent reports, São Paulo can make the transfer permanent by paying Manchester City €6m, and the Premier League side would still have 40% of a future sale.
