Claudio Ranieri’s comments before the Champions League tie against Porto are in every Portuguese newspaper on Tuesday, but not only on the blue pages of Porto. The Leicester  City manager is a concern for Sporting as well.

It happened because he was asked by RTP if there’s still a possibility that Adrien Silva would sign for the Foxes, and said: “We’re watching many players. Adrien is a great player. Why not?”

CapturarIt’s no secret that Sporting stopped the player from joining Leicester this summer because their demands weren’t met.

According to O Jogo, the Foxes offered €25m and then raised it to €30m, but it was still not accepted by the Portuguese club.

Adrien Silva has a €45m release clause, and the newspaper makes sure to say that he’s going nowhere if a club don’t pay that amount.

The player made his desire to move to Leicester public at the time, as he thought the deal had been agreed between the clubs. But in an official statement, Sporting said he was not leaving for less than the release clause.
