Manchester City midfielder Mix Diskerud has told the Swedish media he doesn’t know where he’ll be playing next season.
The 27 year old is currently on loan with IFK Goteborg from Manchester City.
Speaking to Fotboll Direkt, Diskerud was asked if he would be remaining with IFK beyond the summer transfer window: “My teammates don’t know. I know only a bit, but not everything. Myself and the rest around me want it.
“This makes it easier to focus on my main task, which is to play soccer. That’s what I get my salary for. It’s not just up to me as there are many involved.”
Diskerud signed for Manchester City from New York City in January, and was immediately granted permission to join up with Goteborg at their winter training camp in Spain before joining the club on loan.
The player had previously had a loan spell with the Swedish club last season.
The Norwegian born player’s transfer to Manchester City does seem a curious one, and it’s likely he will never turn out for the Blues. It seems the English side see Diskerud as an investment, which they can cash in on one day.
The player made 29 appearances for Goteborg last season, scoring 5 goals.
