Bayern Munich are not interested in Georginio Wijnaldum when he leaves Liverpool this summer.

That’s according to Bayern chief Uli Hoeneß, who has insisted as far as he is aware they are “not interested in this player at all”.

Wijnaldum is set to leave Liverpool this summer, with his contract expiring and the two parties having failed to agree to an extension.

He looks set to sign for Barcelona, with Ronald Koeman having been keen to sign him since his arrival at the Nou Camp last summer.

He’s been edging closer to that move for the past week, but they are not the only interested club, with several reports having linked him to Bayern Munich.

Those rumours have regularly been rejected in Germany, but they’ve persisted nonetheless, with several rumours in England stating there’s still a chance Wijnaldum could swap Liverpool for Bavaria.

That seems to be wide of the mark, though, with BILD journalist Christian Falk reporting Uli Honess as saying, “I’ve heard that we’re not interested in this player at all“ when asked about the reports.

That should put an end to the rumours, although we’re sure some will still try to push it as Barcelona seem to dawdle on the easiest transfer this summer.
