Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web has today a long piece on the future of Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
With his contract expiring at the end of the season, the 22-year-old lives a mysterious situation at the Serie A side, since it’s not clear whether he’ll sign a new deal or not. The negotiations are said to be on, but will take a couple more months.
Now in case he chooses to go, there are a few clubs who’d be interested in his signing, and Manchester City are apparently among them.
With Ederson doing fine, everyone who sees this rumour will probably ask why would Pep Guardiola want Donnarumma in first place. That’s explained in the story.
It’s claimed that Guardiola likes Donnaruma ‘a lot’, but Ederson’s status at the club obviously makes the move unlikely, as they’d need to let him go for that.
That’s why the situation is described as ‘difficult, but not impossible’.
Other clubs who have ‘taken information’ on the goalkeeper are Juventus and Paris Saint Germain.
They should now all wait and see if Donnaruma agrees a new deal with Milan or chooses to walk for free.
