One of the nice surprises of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ defeat against Crystal Palace was the full debut handed to left-back Hugo Bueno.
The youngster impressed, and even assisted Adama Traoré for Wolves’ goal that game, which has caused the Spanish press to sit down with him.
First was La Voz de Galicia, which we covered on Wednesday, where the player made it clear he still wasn’t satisfied with what he had achieved at Molineux, and was ready to work hard to establish himself further in the team.
He has since sat down with AS as well, who wanted to find out a bit more about the 20-year-old, which included talking to him about Wolves’ managerial situation.
The Premier League side sacked Bruno Lage after poor results, but few expected them to go this long without a replacement, having failed to attract the right man.
Julen Lopetegui was mentioned, but ultimately turned the team down, who have now moved on to Peter Bosz after he was let go by Lyon.
One of the reasons why a quick succession is useful is to avoid turmoil within the club, which is now something Bueno admits the Wolves players are trying to make sure doesn’t happen.
He said: “If I tell you the truth, many names have been talked about, so we players have tried to get away from the subject so as not to go crazy. We are focused on our training, on our being together and we know that whoever comes will be for the better.
“But at the moment, we are trying to do it ourselves with the support of Steve (Davis) and James (Collins), who I know personally and they are two magnificent coaches.”
