Once destined for greatness during his early days at Milan, Patrick Cutrone has stagnated massively over the past few years.
A big part of that was his rather forced transfer from San Siro to Wolverhampton Wanderers, which did anything but help his career.
Struggling to find his feet at Molineux, the striker was swiftly sent on loan to Fiorentina, where he was meant to return to his former self.
Unfortunately, he did anything but, with the loan coming to an end in January and the Italian returning to Wolves.
He featured a handful of times in Raúl Jiménez’s absence, but was then sent, once again, on loan, this time to Valencia in Spain.
The 23-year-old has yet to start a game for the La Liga side, making just four measly appearances from the bench.
Speaking to Pianeta Milan, Filippo Galli, who spent 12 years of his life working at Milan, as either U19 manager, assistant manager or their academy manager, was asked about Cutrone, whom he’ll have known well from their time together at San Siro.
He said: “Cutrone had a series of difficulties, first at Wolverhampton and then also at Fiorentina. Now he has a new chance at Valencia, but even there, it’s not easy. I’m sorry he has a moment of impasse, but I wish him well.
“It’s not easy, because obviously it’s even more difficult in the international world, but he has put himself on the line in England and now in Spain”.
