It’s safe to say former Arsenal star Lukas Podolski is really disappointed with Jose Mourinho’s treatment of Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Podolski, who has played with the Manchester United star at Bayern Munich and with the German national team, has been speaking to German newspaper Bild, as was asked about Schweinsteiger’s situation at the Premier League club.
Podolski insists it’s not right to ask the 32-year-old to play for the reserves, and that Mourinho should keep the door open for all players, regardless of whether he thinks he needs them right now.
He said: “What happened, it isn’t fair. It is not correct to send Basti to the second team. A coach must always keep the door open to all players.”
Podolski also believes it’s possible that Schweinsteiger could play in the United States in the future.
He added: “I think America is great. Moving abroad is good for personal development and it would also be good for our children. Clearly, it would be possible to play with Schweinsteiger in the United States.”
