Luis Diaz’s rise to fame is no coincidence, with the forward having worked hard to get to his current heights with Liverpool.
That’s according to former teammate Willer Ditta, who insists the Colombian fully deserves the praise he is currently receiving.
Diaz appears to be on the fast track to success after arriving at Liverpool from Porto in the January transfer window.
He had established himself as the star of the show during his time with the Portuguese giants and has continued where he left off since moving to Anfield.
Rather than slow adaptation, he has immediately settled into life at Liverpool, establishing himself as a regular alongside Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane.
His impressive displays since his arrival continued this week with a goal and an assist in the 3-1 win over Benfica in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The display only further established the belief that Liverpool have another star on their hands, and Ditta is delighted by that fact.
“It gives me joy what most people feel about him,” he told Blog Deportivo on Blu Radio.
“There can not be a single person who does not have affection for ‘Lucho’ without knowing him; just by seeing him, you know he is a good person.
“As for me, I shared with him not only in training and on the field, but we are good friends; it makes me very happy because he is a very humble person.
“It is not a coincidence that what is happening to him is happening to him. It is exciting to see what he is doing.
“When we are sitting in the dining room, and they pass the news of ‘Lucho’, who gave the assist and the goal, teammates say that they love him or that he is crazy. I was fortunate to be with him and he is very cool.”
