Brahim Diaz potentially moving to Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund is a rumour which has been pushed much more strongly in the English media than in Spain or Germany.
With a contract running out and tough competition in the Manchester City squad, an exit for the youngster is becoming an increasingly possible scenario.
But if Real Madrid were seriously interested, and making moves, then it’s likely it would have been pushed much more strongly in the club’s local media.
On November 2nd, as claims swirled from England that Madrid could snatch the player away, Marca covered his situation and, whilst they mentioned the top clubs in Europe were watching the player, they didn’t mention Real Madrid directly.
A day later, that had changed, with Marca’s November 3rd edition claiming Real Madrid are ‘attentive’ to Brahim Diaz’s situation. The club were said to be one of a long list of those who would consider a January cut-price deal or a free transfer in the summer.
However, when that article was published on the English version of Marca, the headline was somewhat sexed up to ‘Real Madrid set to move for Brahim Diaz’.
As it stands, there’s still not a big fuss being made of this in Spain.
