Schalke defender Ozan Kabak is set to join Norwich City on loan until the end of the season, with a deal currently being negotiated.

That’s according to Sky Germany, who say the Turkish centre-back is ‘on the verge’ of making the move before deadline day.

According to their information, Norwich are currently locked in negotiations with Schalke over the defender, and while the transfer is not finalised, all indications are that it will be before deadline day.

Kabak has been linked with a move away from the German side all summer after his loan spell at Liverpool in the second half of last season.

Several Premier League sides have been named as suitors, but none have made definitive moves, and the same can be said of various others suitors in Europe.

Now it seems Norwich have stepped in to give Kabak and Schalke the transfer they want, with a loan deal on the table.

Sky say there were ‘concrete enquiries’ from Sevilla and Newcastle, but now ‘everything is in favour’ of Norwich, and negotiations are underway to finalise a move to Carrow Road post haste.
