There’s no denying that despite their shortcomings in the Premier League this season, Norwich City have something of a talented side.
Players like Todd Cantwell, Emi Buendía or even Ben Godfrey are all likely to be in demand if (when?) the Canaries get relegated back down to the Championship.
The latter has especially impressed, with recent claims in the British media suggesting Norwich would ask for €55m should a club come knocking for the 22-year-old.
However, the stance in Italy appears a bit different, as Italian journalist Alessio Lento reports both Milan and AS Roma have made ‘exploratory enquiries’ for the centre-back, and Norwich’s demands are a bit lower than first thought.
According to him, the Carrow Road side value Godfrey at ‘around €28m’, which is a far more affordable price for interested parties.
The article on Calciomercato.it’s website also adds the CEO of New Era Global Sports, the player’s agency, and their head of Overseas Market, were both contacted via an intermediary mandated by the two clubs.
We’ll have to wait and see if more comes from this, but perhaps that price will be a bit higher for Premier League clubs.
Who knows?
