Clubs and agents seem to be still working on Marvin Zeegelaar’s departure from Sporting to happen as soon as possible. Not in Jorge Jesus’ plans for the next season, the player is very likely to leave on a loan or on a permanent deal next summer, according to A Bola today.

The Portuguese newspaper claims the most likely destinations for the left-back would be his home country the Netherlands or England, where he was very close to joining Norwich City in January.

CapturarAs covered by the Portuguese media at the time, Norwich City had agreed a fee for the player, but weren’t able to complete the signing because he didn’t accept the personal terms.

There were claims of Zeegelaar feeling Norwich weren’t an ambitious enough Championship team, but it seemed more about money.

The story about his departure has been dragged for a while now, and it seems Zeegelaar will have to accept a move soon.

A Bola mentions England as a ‘good chance’, even though they don’t bring any updates on Norwich City’s chase for the player.

It’s said that €5m should be enough to sign the 26-year-old. In case Sporting don’t manage to sell, then they will accept a loan deal.
