Norwich City defender Sebastien Bassong is very close to signing for Turkish side Bursaspor, report Fanatik. ‘The Crocodiles’ are currently going through a dismal run of form, and the former Turkish Super League champions have lost their last 4 games, conceding a total of 18 goals.
Fanatik say the Bursaspor board will sign an experienced player in the next transfer window and Norwich City’s Cameroonian centre back Bassong has emerged as a prime target. The 31-year old has played 13 games in the Championship this season for Norwich City, and he will be a free agent at the end of June.
Fanatik claim Bassong has already travelled to Bursa and was left impressed with the club’s facilities, and their fans. The Turkish newspaper say Bursaspor do not expect any problems with the deal as they think Bassong will choose them.
The player’s move to Turkey will end his nine year stay in England after initially joining Newcastle United in 2008 before spells with Tottenham Hotspur, Wolves, Watford, and Norwich City.
