Norwich City are close to signing of Nice midfielder Pierre Lees-Melou, according to the latest reports from France.

Outlet Nice Matin claims the Canaries should complete the signing of the 28-year-old, who’s now ‘on his way to England’ and ‘will sign in the next few hours’.

Lees-Melou reportedly got the authorisation to sort his way out of the club, and Norwich City could spend up to €6m to guarantee the signing.

Since this is clearly some urgent information Nice Matin is getting, all they have is a story of two lines making it clear that the transfer is close to happening.

Lees-Melou joined Nice on a €4m move from Dijon back in 2017 and became an important player for the club since then.

He’s set to leave the Ligue 1 side after 140 appearances made, 33 of them last season, when he wore the captain’s armband a number of times and also managed to score five goals.

Following the promotion to the Premier League, Norwich City have already completed the signings of Milot Rashica, Ben Gibson, Dimitros Giannoulis, Angus Gunn and Billy Gilmour.

Now they continue to strengthen the squad for the big challenge they’ll have this season.
