Jonathan Rowe’s move from Norwich City to Marseille is now ‘a matter of hours’ away from being done.
That’s according to La Provence, who say the Norwich man is on the verge of completing his move to the French side.
According to their information, the 21-year-old is set to complete his medical examinations with Roberto de Zerbi’s side today before then becoming their tenth signing of the summer.
They explain that Rowe landed at Marignane airport on Thursday, around lunchtime, before heading to the first part of his medical with Marseille.
He carried out a ‘battery of tests’ in Marseille’s clinic that afternoon and will continue those today. One of these tests is a ‘fasting blood test’. Once these are done, he will sign his contract with them, presumably at the end of the day.
Negotiations between Marseille and Norwich ‘did not drag on’ and a total agreement was reached on Wednesday.
The French side will sign the wing on loan but be obligated to buy him next summer for €16m. That figure does not include bonuses.
He was not a priority target at the beginning of the window but has become an option late on due to his versatility and the French side have moved quickly to wrap up a deal for him.
