Liverpool have been branded ‘weak and embarrassing’ for mistakes made in an opposition report on their official website.

Those are the descriptions placed on them by Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung, who were left less than impressed by information posted on Liverpool’s website regarding LASK.

The Reds are set to take on the Austrian side in the Europa League group stages this season after being drawn alongside them in Group A with Union SG and Toulouse.

As is the custom, the draw was followed by Liverpool posting opposition reports on their website regarding the teams they’d been drawn against, and it seems this is where the problem lies.

Kronen Zeitung, say they have posted ‘false information’ regarding the Austrian side, making unforgivable mistakes for a huge club with a ‘huge PR and media department’ at their disposal.

They say that if Liverpool play on the pitch as poorly as they do their research in the office, LASK will be walking away with six easy points later this year.

The newspaper labels the Reds report as ‘weak and embarrassing’ after claiming LASK were in the last 16 of the Conference League last season, when it was actually the year before and they weren’t in any European competitions last year.

Liverpool’s media department also labelled coach Thomas Sageder as a former LASK player, which, KZ make clear ‘is also nonsense’ and not true.

As far as KZ are concerned, the lack of care and attention taken ‘shows how busy’ Liverpool really are with their opponents. In other words, they aren’t concerned at all.

That’s something they won’t stand for as despite LASK being ‘inferior’, they believe they could ‘still expect more respect’ from their English counterparts, an argument it’s hard to disagree with.
