Brighton & Hove Albion’s Deniz Undav impressed during his loan spell at VfB Stuttgart last season, managing 19 goals and 10 assists from 33 games in all competitions.
The striker is keen on returning to the Bundesliga side and they want to buy him this summer.
Stuttgart are yet to find an agreement with Brighton, and there were claims they’d walk away if the situation continued.
Bild now report the German club wanted to set a deadline of August 4th. They have extended the date until midweek as the negotiations between the two teams have intensified in the last few hours.
Stuttgart have agreed a four-deal worth €3m per year with the Germany international and this will come into effect if they agree a deal with the Seagulls. Should they fail in the next few days, Bild say Stuttgart will start working on other targets.
Undav arrived at Brighton from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in 2022, and found it difficult to have a prominent role at The Amex during the 2022/23 season.
This convinced him to go out on loan last summer and the move has paid off. The attacker insists the Premier League side didn’t appreciate him, and he said this during a chat with boxer Agit Kabayel, relayed by Bild.
“The last year I was away, I never really got any appreciation from Brighton. Nobody cared about me. That just showed me: Stuttgart really want me, they love me. Nothing came from Brighton for a year,” he said.
On his wish for the future, Undav explained: “I feel comfortable at Stuttgart. I would like to go to Stuttgart and hope that it works. Now it feels like they are negotiating every day. Let’s see what happens.”
