As Aston Villa and Juventus work to finalise a deal for Douglas Luiz, there’s still the lack of an agreement with one player in the exchange.
CalcioMercato.it journalist Alessio Lento now shows up with a small update on the situation, explaining the deal isn’t done despite others classifying it as a done deal.
It’s said there’s ‘no total agreement’ for the transfer of Enzo Barrenechea, who’s been included by Juventus in the deal with Aston Villa.
According to the reporter, the parties are working to sort out the final problems until there’s ‘white smoke’ in the negotiations.
Barrenechea is getting involved in the deal because of Aston Villa’s refusal to agree to Weston McKennie’s personal terms demands.
Reports from the Italian media today claimed that while Juventus were supposed to pay €20m plus McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior for Douglas Luiz, they’re now set to raise the cash to around €25m with the swap for Barrenechea.
The negotiations still seem to move forward, although the Italian media are obviously wary something could go wrong.
