West Ham United have seen an attempt to lure Jose Mourinho to the club rejected by the Portuguese manager.
That’s according to Siamo La Roma, who say the Hammers are the only club to have come forward to make an offer to Mourinho in recent weeks.
West Ham currently have David Moyes in charge and are seemingly backing him, despite being stuck in a relegation battle after a huge summer of spending and improving the squad.
Word from the club is that Moyes retains their backing but reports in the last few months have made it clear that they’re exploring potential replacements regardless.
That has seen Roma manager Jose Mourinho brought into the mix, with it claimed in Italy in March that they had made a ‘remarkable offer’ for him.
That was followed by a claim that an offer had certainly been made to the Portuguese coach but was unfortunately not attractive enough to lure him to the London Stadium.
Siamo La Roma continue on that path today, stating that so far, no top club has contacted Mourinho ahead of the summer.
Instead, it is only West Ham who have ‘shown up’ and tired to secure his signature. Again, though, Mourinho’s response to that effort was a polite ‘No thank you’.
He seemingly has no intention of returning to London after two spells at Chelsea and another at Tottenham, particularly when the potential of the PSG job becoming available remains on the horizon.
