Journalist Paolo Bargiggia has ruled out the possibility of Juventus making an approach for Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg in January, during an interview with TV Play.
Ange Postecoglu’s arrival at Spurs has seen the 28-year-old have to settle for a substitute’s role nds he’s clocked in 125 minutes of action from seven league games this season.
For the past few weeks, multiple claims from the Italian press have talked about the Serie A side’s interest in the Tottenham player.
Last week, Gazzetta dello Sport stated the radical change in the midfielder’s situation at the north London club could lead to an exit in the winter market. On Monday, Corriere Torino reported the Old Lady have already started contacts with his entourage.
The journalist has also talked about the Turin club’s interest in the Denmark international and explained why a January deal isn’t on cards just yet.
“If they were to do something we’re talking about a midfielder on loan. Among all the names circulating, including Højbjerg, there are no signs of an opening. You don’t take away certain players from other teams midway through the season. The teams, however, are not scraping the bottom of the barrel,” Bargiggia explained.
If the journalist’s claim is to be true, Højbjerg may have to keep other options open, as long as he wants to leave Tottenham.
