Manchester United have turned their attention to Borussia Dortmund youngster Jude Bellingham instead of Jadon Sancho this summer.
That’s according to BILD journalist Christian Falk, who says United have cooled their interest in Sancho after last summer.
As you’ll remember, Sancho was heavily linked with a mega move to Old Trafford last summer, with it felt he was at the top of Manchester United’s transfer targets.
A move never happened as United refused to pay Dortmund’s huge asking price, which was well over €100m at the time.
He ended up staying in Dortmund but looks likely to leave this summer, with numerous reports in Germany indicating that Dortmund are now willing to sell and could even do so for a fee well below €100m.
That has naturally seen Manchester United drawn back into the picture, with them still needing a right-winger and Sancho fitting the bill.
It’s felt that with his price now reduced, they could be interested once again, but Falk insists that is not on the cards at this moment in time.
“The curious thing is, as you say, we’ve talked about them so often, they always want to see him pay, and suddenly, according to our information, there’s only one offer for him,” he told BILD.
“Dortmund would probably even be prepared to accept such an amount of 90 million, which then rises above a hundred, but in fact, the English are very, very reluctant.
“At United at the moment, there is nothing at all on the Sancho interest; on the contrary, a move is not likely. The reason? Jude Bellingham.
“Dortmund themselves have the replacement for Sancho and would therefore already sell Sancho, and the English are now simply focussing on Bellingham instead.”
